Ahoy, Brooke Shields (And Say Hello To Our Two New Boats!)

Mon, Jun 19, 2017

Over the last 70 years, we’ve hosted a lot of people aboard our boats (over 60 million, actually). But never have we ever hosted a bona fide supermodel/actress/icon - until last week, that is.

On Tuesday, June 13th the Circle Line family officially welcomed two new, state-of-the-art vessels to our fleet of sightseeing yachts, and none other than the beautiful Brooke Shields came aboard to help us christen the new ships. Yes, we’re talking the real deal here, including the ceremonious breaking of a champagne bottle over the bow. Check this out:

Other guests of honor included our CEO and Chairman Samuel Cooperman, as well as Bronx and Staten Island Borough Presidents Ruben Diaz Jr. and James Oddo, respectively. Also in attendance were the president of Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation and representatives from the New Heights Youth charity organization.

And as if watching Brooke Shields break bottles wasn’t excitement enough, the festivities concluded with a heart-thumping water cannon salute from the NYC Fire Department. Pretty epic right? Trust us, it was.

But don’t start feeling any FOMO, you can get in on the celebration by hopping aboard for a cruise! Our expanded fleet is sure to please.

So what’s the deal with the new boats? Well, for starters the Bronx and the Staten Island feature upgraded sound systems and larger windows for a better viewing (and hearing - because our tour guides are the best in the business) experience. These babies also boast café-style dining areas, improved heating/cooling systems for optimal comfort during all 4 seasons, and a third deck for true VIP treatment for our Premier guests - and more room and sweeping views overall!
